The Schaumburg Township District Library, in a partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, is participating in Chicago Money Smart Week. The following programs, designed to help consumers better manage their finances, will take place at the library:
Ready, Set, Retire
Monday, April 21 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Two specialists will cover the important topic of retirement preparedness. This will include wealth management, saving for retirement, Medicare and Medicaid. The program will include the five biggest risks facing retirees.
Get Real - Financial Decisions in the Real World
Wednesday, April 23 . . . . . . . . . . . . . 7 - 8:30 p.m.
This program is geared toward high school students. Learn about paying bills, setting financial goals, saving and building a good credit record.
Planning for the Costs of Higher Education
Thursday, April 24 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .7:30 - 9 p.m.
A member of the Financial Planning Association will present an informative seminar on what parents should know about planning and saving for college costs.

New Prices Coming May 12, 2008 – from the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) – Includes the new first-class mail letter rate of 42 cents (except for any new forever stamps purchased before that date.)
