New Hanover Park Branch Welcomes Patrons

Construction and ceremonies are now a thing of the past. The new Hanover Park Branch Library at 1266 Irving Park Rd. is up and running, with many positive comments from patrons and staff alike. We’ve combined the old with the new by keeping the beloved castle and throne, fiber optic constellations and dinosaur exhibit, while adding a teen center, fireplace, meeting room, more computers and much more space. Unlike the previous location, the new facility is a stand-alone building, owned by the library. It provides more than 2,600 square feet for Adult Services, over 1,600 square feet for a children’s area and 618 square feet for teens, who did not have their own area in the previous branch building.
Hanover Park branch staff are excited about the new facility and look forward to serving residents at the new site. If you haven’t been there yet, stop by and see this beautiful new building. And don’t miss the sculpture in the outdoor courtyard!
