Registration for the Winter Reading Program begins Dec. 1. Participants may sign up at the Reader Services Desk or theHoffman Estates orHanover Park branches. Teens will receive ‘snowballs’ for every book review turned in to be used to ‘buy’ prizes or enter drawings. Prizes will be available Feb. 1-28. At the December meeting we will have our annual teen holiday event honoring many cultures. This year we will also learn some professional candymaking skills. At our January meeting members can take a brief break from studying and learn how to be polished when looking for a job. In February we will celebrate the 9th anniversary of the Teen Advisory Board at STDL with some Mardi Gras spirit. New members are always welcome. Each month, artistic teens will have a chance to work on a special art Challenge! Get ready to Think Outside the Box for our first one. Even if you think you are not artistic - you’ll be surprised at what you can do. Come to have fun and explore your talents. Students in grades 6-9 or ages 11-15 are welcome to participate. Hanover Park Branch LibraryDo you want to draw anime and manga? Come work with professional artist Shannon Townsend as she takes club members through drawing techniques. New members are welcome at all skill levels in grades 6 – 12, but this class does fill fast. Registration required.
